Apple ipod video & Sony Ericsson P990i

I have an ipod video and going to get the new handphone, Sony Ericsson P990i, i am wondering whether these two devices are compatible with E60 525i 2006 model? Does 2006 model has the auxilary?

Aux in is normally an expensive accessory from the dealer (i mean that amount for a wire
). If it is not stated as an option in your purchase, then it's extra $$.On second thought, I may have misunderstood your question. Aux in capability is there but you need to get the dealer to hook the wire up for you, and enable it in the software.

I don't understand the aux in / out.... Did u mean the car comes with a slot for me to connect with my ipod? Or, there is slot and the wire is not connected to the idrive mainboard, subsequently the software. In this case, in order to have it works properly, i need to ask my dealer to fix the wire??? Someone please enlighten me

E60 has the aux in input but the software does not enable it and you don't have easy access to the physical input.
So, you need the dealer to install this piece of wire for you and then update your idrive software to enable the aux in so that you can see it as part of your entertainment. Then you get a stereo input connection inside your glove compartment.

Here's what the aux input looks like--the left end of the wiring harness is a female mini stereo jack that you plug any audio device into. It's typically installed inside the glove box--install instructions below. Dealer installs it and programs iDrive to recognize it.

It's been done by many owners in this forum all over the world, myself included. But some dealers screwed up in their work. So, if you are the first one for AB or whoever, quiz them first.

do not be so Ipod minded, I mean once you have the aux-in installed you can plug in anything that has 2,5 mm jacks, I put my movieplayer (divx w 72 lcd) and the L7 is close to a good cinema, of course still no THX like at home
