TO ALL NEXTEL IDEN USERS-nextel_i605.jpgA friend of mine that is an Engineer with Motorola Nextel division provided me with a prototype phone, not out in the market, the Nextel I605 with Bluetooth. When over to my car tried pairing the Bluetooth and everything works beautiful. Now I just don't know who to believe, BMW claims that the only phones that work with their system are the ones they list on those S.Bulletins.

Well, I highly doubt iDEN would work with the E60's antenna so it will be more limited than a GSM handset. Do you get a lot of interference from the iDEN? I remember getting lots of audible and visible noise when I put iDEN devices near just about anything.

It shakes up video screens too. I've seen noisy lines cycle through CRTs.

Isn't iDen going to be phased-out in a few years? I heard they have an extra 2 years left to support the iDen network.

I use Nextel for work too. It would be great if this works. If anyone has any other information it would be appreciated.

i605 is out already in the marketplace and is not prototype anymore. About $249 with 2 yr commitment...
