First off I am not even sure they make a 635i but they make a 630i that is absolutely SWEET looking. Looks pretty identical to the 650, has nice dual polished exhaust tips and is just a beauty-like all 6s are but why dont we get the 630i here in the US. I am positive it would sell since it would be cheaper than the 650 and I know tons of people who love the 6 but simply cant afford it.

Bmw is lacking a bigger coupe in a reasonable price range. The 3 is toos mall for many people and the 5 and 7 are 4 doors and the 650 is quite expensive.

I would personally love a 630 with 272hp -

A 635 w/300hp would be even sweeter...specially if they had it with lighter weight carbon roof!!

Probably because BMWNA wants to keep the 6er upscale and exclusive...?

Even though the 6er is mechanically the same as 5er, its marketed more like the 7er - as the flagship.
When you buy a 6er, i believe you get perks like a free day at the bmw performance driving school at Spartanburg. Also, if you do ED, 5ers do not come out of dealers' allocation, but 6ers do - hence less/no discount. - Both of these are similar to how M cars are treated.

American like cars with big engin. That's why you don't see 518 or 520 here.

Well that is one thing but they have the 330 and 530 here-that is a hefty engine now pumping out 272 hp. Just like the 3 series and 5 series have an entry level car-I think the 6 should have an entry level I6 engine like the 1, 3 and 5.

I understand the exclusive thing but why only do that in the US-dont the UK want things exclusive? Just not sure why its only the North america. I would understand if the 6 series did not come with an I6 period-but if some countries get it and some dont-that doesnt make sense to keeping it exclusive only in certain places.

I actually think it would sell well. Americans like big engines to a point but especially now adays they like fuel efficiency and reliability-both of which the good old NA I6 or even the TT i6 offer. I know many who simply dont wnat the consumption of a v8 and would buy an I6 in a heartbeat. I would rather have a TT I6 5 or 6 series. I am a huge fan of the I6 engines.

It makes sense not to have the 518 here since petrol prices are nowhere near what they are overseas so there is no need to have engines that completely efficient. Americans like you say need a certain degree of power and the 518 is just too little to market here but the 330/530 have more than enough power for 90 percent of bmw buyers. Atleast 99 percent of bimmers I see on the road are driven by older folks or folks that never push there cars

The stock UK 630i is probably more expensive than a loaded US 650i. In Europe the 630i is very much premium anyways.

Right but I am sure a loaded 650 in the UK is way more than the 630 so that does not explain the exclusivness arguement since why dont they want to keep it exclusive in the UK

It is a BMWNA decision. Certain products or or even options/features are chosen to be excluded to the US market by BMWNA. Many times it makes no sense to us USA consumers, but that is there decision to make. And yes there is a 635i TT now. Been in many photos and videos. Also a 635d (also a twin turbo but small and big turbos rather than two small on each of 3 cyl). I would be interested in testing all of those if given a chance, although I would probably stick to V8. But with all its torque that 635d could be a fun drive on the ToD.

i waited for the 630 for 3 years. the 650 is a great fast car but where can we use all that power. the 630 or 635 will be close to the 650 and get better economy by about 5 mpg. that why i didnt buy the m6 i could justify the sticker price and poor economy. its not that i cant afford both its just the prinsple[sp]. i've worked with a lot of marketing people over my live time. to summ them up, they think they know everything we want, but their usually wrong. when taken to task they cant justify their disisions.
