Cool

sorry for not being around for a while, was really busy... as Tbal says, im always hiding lol

Soo ! Yes, after thinking about it for a looong time, I decided to ship my 6er with me for the summer holiday to ******* ! well, let's keep this part until the car arrives, but hopefully you will like the Destination that I chose

Reasons ?

- was able to fight for a loong summer holiday, believe me, its difficult to do so when you work for a Telecom Company, specially Operations. so, its worth shipping the car abroad to drive it for a reasonable amount of time.

- Extremely cheap shipping rates after the global chrisis.

- had the worst issues with car rentals abroad. nearly complete card blockage specially for long periods, no refund. They offer a bimmer, and when you get there, you get an Opel or a Skoda.

- its different when its Your car

- other reasons to follow later !

So, got the car to Jebel Ali Harbor in Dubai last Saturday, got all paper work done, car inside a 20' container, waiting for departure on 16th April.

I'll be updating this thread with everything related to the trip (pics, vids, events, etc), so make sure you don't miss it !

some pics before finalizing the container at the harbor...

and finally, had to cover it for the long trip. that's necessary since the windows are slightly open to avoid increased heat in the passenger compartment...

Wish me the best. Will keep you guys posted !

Baller ?? lol

but the complete shipping costs is exactly the same amount, if not less !, as hiring a 3 series for 6 weeks ! its just the same amount of money spend, just different car

lool... well, nice guesses, but let's keep it till the car arrives

Tony, Ill take special pics for you bro

Way to go, love it!

That's certainly one way of getting round the airline's luggage weight restrictions
