My Ride: 2005 E60 530i Steptronic Mystic Blue
No mods yet...
Hi guys~
I finally got my 630i today!! but I had to see my old E60 getting its licence plate taken off and getting dragged to the service center... :'(
But man this car drives like a dream..New R6 engine an engineering master piece I should say..
Much better than M54!! wonder how the new 4.8L V8 feels like??
The car came de-badged, making ppl think that it's a 650ci. with the difference between the 630, and the 650 being the oval tail-pipe for the V8, and full chromed grill.
It doesn't have the rumbling exhaust note of the 645ci i test-drove, but the straight 6 has its own
unique raw sound. ( I've attached a sound clip, and I couldn't rev more than 5500rpm because it was a cold day and i didn't want to really stress the engine!)
anyway since it's a black car i'll hav to take extra care on the paint!
could anyone recommend me a good wax?? btw, i don't think PS21, Zaino, Klasse, etc. are available in NZ..
I've only seen Maguiars, Turtlewax, Mothers. And how often should I clay the car??
Thanks~

Congrats for the great car.
Honestly I do not know the products you named but I am using the BMW care products and in my opinion are great. I am normally using the car shampoo and every second washup the waxed shampoo to maintain the gloss. Very good is also the rims cleaner gel.

Tailpipes and chrome grill are easy fix, I wouldn't be too worry and let those things spoil my fun.

welcome to the club, this is by far the best looking car that BMW has rolled out in years! you will luv it more each day
To keep the black looking great, use a pure Brazilian Carnuba wax several times a year, and use a spray on wax (im currently using Liquid diamond by Simonize) every other week at least...my former e46 was Jet Black and even after the 5 1/2 years I owned her, she looked great every day...but as you know, black is a luv-hate, you must maintain to look good, but when its clean it looks the best
