It's mounted on the side with a very strong suction-nap. It comes with lots of attachment options, mostly with adhesive tape. You can also attach it to a helmet. And it's waterproof to (I think it was) 10 mtrs. You can also fix it to skis or snowboard, amazig footage!!!

I used a cheap canon camera strapped to my diffuser with velcro straps and a suction cup mount.
