iPhone 3.0
#1
I've installed the new iPhone 3.0 software on an iPhone 3G. I am quite happy to say it works without any problems. It works just like the 2.2.1 with my 2010 650i. I see no differences. It still has the same quirks.
Now I'm tempted to order the iPhone 3GS.

The iPhone 3GS works great in my car. All I need to get is the scosche adapter so it can charge from the MOST interface cable. It streams pandora like a champ and plays music just like my iPod. Bluetooth is 100% functional and all contacts are pulled onscreen.

My iPhone 1G (first edition), would not stay connected with the OS 2.1 but after I updated to OS 3.0 yesterday - problem solved! whoooooohoo!!
My dads iPhone 3G (OS 3.0) works as well, but does not always load all the contacts.

Found a new feature after my upgrade to 3.0. With the earlier version my voicemail was dead when BT connected to the car. It now plays through the speaker just as a call would. great improvement...

That said, the new 3.0 software is pretty good, and it updates fairly quick.
Also, if you have an iPhone 3G, the 3GS is a waste of money

1G was an analog cellular network. the original iphone WAS not 1G. 1G was introduced in the 80's and has been getting phased out for years. The original iphone utilized the Digital 2G network and EDGE.

That said - the 3.0 software is much better than the old 2.1 software I had before. Safari would crash 50% of the time, SMS'ing was slow etc.
