My Ride: 2006 530xi. Deep green with beige interior. 6 speed manual. Premium package.
I would not worry about it. You can replace anything but love lasts forever. Now you just have to figure out which one I am referring to

Even at the dealership, I'll tell them that I'll pull it up onto the lift from now on....
I let the GF take the 6 to Florida for two weeks, figuring that she'd be in her element with sun, sand and palm trees (the car, not the GF!!!)
Car comes back north (near Phila., Pa.) with cigarette ash in the corners of the seats, footprints on the passenger side dash, dried coca-cola on the psgr seat, a haze on the inside of the windows like a fire-extinguisher went off, a burn mark on the driver's side floormat ...and........ A dent and a scrape on the right rear side. To top it all off, she went through one of those "brushless car washes" before coming back up. Thank god I have several coats of wax on the car.
Oh, and she takes the friggin' autotrain from Fla to Va. on the way back... Can you imagine the degenerates loading up the cars drooling over who gets to "park" the droptop 6? Like in Ferris Bueller's Day Off? I don't want to know. I would have driven the 6 down on my car trailer and flown back up if I would have known she was gonna do the Autotrain. I aprreciate her trying to save miles on the car, and I would have gladly saved the 6 the 2000 mile round trip by trailering it down there and back. Would have given me a chance to hang out with her and her friends down there too. But noooooo, no one asks me, they just go go go.
Gonna take a picture in the light tomorrow. It's gonna be a $1000+ repair, I can tell. The paint isn't damaged so much as it is dented in. Just like my heart.....
Haven't asked her how all this has happened. She dropped the car off last night at my place while I was out, and I noticed it today. I'm just going to silently walk her to the car and point at the damage. See what she says.
Problem is, if you think I'm fanatic about my car, I am even more fanatic about her and she knows that all she needs to do is give a smile and hug and she's off the hook.
Thankfully she doesn't read here and maybe I can get a day or two of guilt out of her....

Next time she's taking the Z4 or the Jeep. What's that you say honey? You can't drive stick?
I'll give you a ride to the airport then

are you related to cobradav by any chance??
Got the camera from work today and will take a picture tomorrow when it's light outside. I'm taking it into the dealer tomorrow too for an estimate on damage and to get the Idrive screen and front sway bar fixed.
She does this to all cars she drives. You should have seen the interior of her Acura before I couldn't stand it and cleaned it for her, it was like she left it down the street from Mt. St. Helens with the windows down as the eruption began. Only way to describe it. The only areas ash-free were where people routinely touched, parts of the steering wheel, most of the seats, the knobs, etc. It was a black interior, but kid you not it looked charcoal to gray. Funniest part I guess is her name: ASHley.
I was considering trading up for a 650i convertible but now I'm gonna concentrate on getting the 645 back to cherry and then make a move in the spring. Oh, and I looked, I think the wheel may need to be replaced, there are rubber marks on the tire and likely scratches underneath considering how much rubber was deposited onto the wheel.
It looks like it very well may have been some sock-sucker in a parking lot who hit it with their tire/bumper. Then again, it may have been her hitting someone else and then talking her way out of trouble (have you seen the Seinfeld episode where Jerry can get away with anything, especially the speeding ticket so long as this one girl is with him?
I hear you other guys about the poor treatment. It's really more about her spoiled attitude, "just get it fixed, get it cleaned, buy a new one, etc..." but I can truly say that when it comes to people, she knows she just can't throw $$$ at them to make everything better.
She knows she screwed up, it won't be the last time I'm sure, but if I at all suspected that she was "using" or taking advantage of me, it would stop in it's tracks...
I need to make her feel really guilty and get her to tell her daddy that she "wants this new 4 door 5 series BMW that just came out, it's an M5 or something, really a family-type car, can you courier a check over to the dealer?"
Knowing my luck, it was 64 degrees farenheit here today, and it stayed dry all afternoon. So I had to put the top down and do some errands. Of course, I stayed in the right lane the whole time so that no none in traffic could see the right side of the car

Chronologically or Emotionally?
She's 26, I'm 31. I'm a teenager when it comes to some things and a million years old when it comes to others.
Relationships: I'm 14 years old and trying to find the hottest chick in playboy to fold up under my mattress.
Everything else: I've either done it, seen it, or knew people that died from it and this adds up to a million friggin' years old.
Prison tattoos, track marks, missing fingers, you name it...
And how do I get the stuff into the country from South America you ask?
I do criminal defense and collections by day and imitate Keith Richards by night.
Public record: Her family controls almost 2% of the PREIT (Penna. Real Estate Investment Trust) the trust having real estate holdings in the tens to hundreds of billions of USD. But she works 35 hours a week for real at a job not controlled by her daddy or grandfather. I think she does it only to satisfy the terms of her own family trust, but she says it's to "keep busy".
I know the image that is projected by the easy availability of such $$$ and I am not at all the braggard or showoff. I like nice cars for my own enjoyment, not for flash or conspicuous consumption. I either wear a custom suit/shirt for work or I'm wearing a T-shirt/jeans/2 year old running sneakers. I have a favorite pair of platinum cufflinks for court appearances and a favorite oil-stained hooded sweatshirt for pulling the engine and trans in the Corvette. I feel similarly comfortable in both getups.
I only post this stuff for the good stories it provides. My barber (not hairstylist!) wants me to write a book.
Will post a pic tomorrow of the "mishap" after I get back from the dealer.
P.S. She wants to borrow the Z4 tomorrow since it's going to be in the 60's again. Funny, I can't seem to find the keys.....
