Mine an 05 also. Good thing mine only spray once. Cause I don't want it to always spray and get washer fluid all over my car after an car wash.

Mine work when headlights are switched on (auto or low beams on) and approximately every five washes of the windshield, moving or parked. It may vary by frequency of use but I am not sure it is a "smart" or "learning" system.

According to page 61 of MY05 owners manual: When the vehicle lighting system is switched
on, the headlamps are also cleaned at regular and appropriate intervals.

According to page 66 of MY06 owners manual: With the vehicle lighting switched on, the headlights
and the BMW Night Vision camera are also cleaned simultaneously at suitable intervals.

According to page 67 of MY07 owners manual: With the vehicle lighting switched on, the headlights
and the BMW Night Vision camera are also cleaned simultaneously at suitable intervals.

tru! wtf is goin on here! maybe i was on crack and turned the AE's on when i did the sprayer. since i thought only auto would do it.
