How do you get side view mirrors to auto tilt downward while in reverse gear? The 6 coupe did it auto when i had it but I now have a convertible and it doesn't tilt while in reverse. Tried looking in settings but couldn't find the option.

 

easy move the switch that selects left and right mirrors to the other side and then put it in R and the mirror should tilt. they did that so you can turn the tilting function on and off.

Maybe I'm dense but how do you adjust the mirror while in the reverse position? I think the switch has to be on the left side and in R to get the mirror tilted downards; but it goes down too much for my liking. How do I adjust? If I flip the switch to the right mirror goes back to normal.

 

don't think you can or i just haven't heard of a way to do this. it's mainly thought so you don't mess up your rims when paralell parking

 

+1, I've tried million different things, it is NOT adjustable, just goes down and thats itt

 

Next question: I noticed in the e63 I had, both mirrors tilted downards while in reverse. In the e64 I have now only the passenger side mirror tilts. Is there an option to have the driver side tilt also? I sometimes parellel on the left side of street.

 

hmm my E64 only tilts the passenger mirror so no idea.. T you wanna check that out real quick?

 

Only the passenger one tilts on all bimmers.
