We've now seen spy photos and have read some details about the next generation 5-series (code name F10). The F10 should launch in the Fall of 2009 as a 2010 model year.

Has there been any news about the next generation 6-series? If the bi-turbo direct injection 4.4 liter V-8 (408HP) goes into the 650i ... that would be a blast.

When did the current 6er come out ... was it launched with the E60 are did it follow sometime later?

Few knowns. E63/64 coupe and cabrio did follow E60 and will trail F10 (F12/13) by 1 year. Other than that look for similar moves in trying to lighten the car to enable even more drive control gizmos, 4th generation Idrive or even 5th gen, more driver centric cockpit, bi-turbo V8 (might be 4.4 with a non turbo larger V8 as well), new trannys (faster STEP and perhaps the DSG equivalent). The F1 (new 7 series) in MY09 ought to gives us a clue on some things (iDrive and maybe trannies)
