When will the re- engineered 6 hit the dealers?
Anyone know the real scoop?
Any NEW photos or details?
Thinkin of an R 8, but would wait for the 6.

V10 R8 or V8? If V10 then I would not even consider the new 6. If the V8 then I would get the new 6. Twin turbo V8 will be insane with aftermarket ecu piggybacks like the 335i. Maybe even a v12 TT option in the new 6 I can dream.

it may even be later...keep this in mind, the 5 series GT will be first to come out, then the new 5 series, then the new 6...well if the GT isnt out until next year, the 5er may not be out till 2011, and who knows if they would also introduce the new 6 in the same year, but if not then.....

Well, the M6 should be twin turbo on a V8, rumors of 550 HP and some 200 lbs. lighter. Standard 6? Probably an 8 but might be the twin-turbo six that's in the 335i. The rumors are that BMW will be going twin turbo on most for the gas mileage.

I'm almost positive the regular 6 will get the x6 engine which is a TT v8. I have no idea about the M6. It could be the same engine block but upgraded internals/higher boost. Just imagine how easy it will be to get massive power with simple tuning of these turbo engines.

There is already a post somewhere on the BMW sticker for the X5M/X6M with the twin scroll turbo charged V8 at 550 HP. 0-60 in 4.. Boost is all the way up to 21 PSI peak.
Other news has a 6 GT coming as well as the coupe and hardtop vert. US market probably only TTV8 (407 HP version) and posssibly a lower model with ONLY a V8. Trannys expected to be DCTs or 7/8 speed STEP. The GT is reported to be a 4-door hatchback (ugh) and could possibly include even more drivetrain options possibly near M caliber.
