Welcome to the Jungle: 1987 Wide Body BMW 3 Series

“Welcome to the Jungle,” “Living on a Prayer,” or the theme song to Miami Vice — whichever tune you choose will make you feel right at home behind the wheel of this ’80s wide-body 3 Series.

This bloated 1987 Matchbox-look-alike 325i custom E30 two-door convertible was up for sale on eBay recently. And though the seller didn’t list a “buy it now” price, the auction ended with a high bid of $5,211, with the reserve not met.

I’m not sure how much money is necessary to bring this bad boy home, but by the look of the seller’s description, you might not even make it home. The seller states that the engine runs “for now,” and the AC suffers from the same luck. The only thing the seller seems to be sure about is that this rare widebody Beemer is ready for a “monster engine swap”.

Perhaps the only thing desirable about this 3 Series is its red leather interior, as the back seats seem to be in pristine shape, just like the Borbet wheels that aren’t really Borbet.
