Alpina B7 Turbo/3

Enthusiast Auto Group from Cincinnati, Ohio, is currently selling a rare Alpina B7 Turbo/3, which comes with a 5-speed manual gearbox.

Back in January, we discussed a gorgeous 1986 Alpina B6 2.7, which was listed for sale on eBay Germany. The automaker only built 67 examples of this exquisite sports coupe which makes it quite a rare treat. However, it is not as rare as this 1987 BMW Alpina B7 Turbo/3, which was based on the E28 5 Series.

The company only produced 30 examples of the Alpina B7 Turbo/3, and Cincinnati, Ohio-based outfit Enthusiast Auto Group is currently selling one of the earliest cars ever built. The car we have here appears to be in showroom-like condition and sports a beautiful Schwarz Blue Metallic paint job. Furthermore, the bodywork of this BMW Alpina B7 Turbo/3 also gets fine Asymmetric Blue and Green stripes.

We find Shadowline Alpina cloth sports seats and creature comforts like a fully functional Alpina AC system inside the cabin. Power windows + mirrors, Alpina steering wheel, rear head rests, wood shift knob + dead pedal, Alpina digital display for boost/temperatures, and power seats are also part of the ensemble.

This car is even more special because it is one of only 4 Alpina B7 Turbo/3s, which have a 5-speed manual gearbox.

The car rides on a set of staggered 17-inch Alpina rims and has brand new Michelin Pilot tires. This Alpina B7 Turbo/3 received several mechanical and cosmetic updates over the last five years, which cost more than $60,000.

This particular sports sedan is a Japanese-spec model, which was imported to North America at some point. The car only has just 59,345 miles on the odometer. For those unfamiliar with B7 Turbo/3 s, a 3.5-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder motor powers this super sedan. The powerplant would churn out 316 HP of maximum power in its factory tune and 348 lb-ft of peak torque.

As a result, the super saloon could accelerate to 62 mph from a complete standstill in just 6.2 seconds. The car also gets a limited-slip differential, and the power is sent to the rear wheels. This 1987 BMW Alpina B7 Turbo/3 is a modern classic. This is probably why Enthusiast Auto Group is asking $199,990 for this example. The car comes with a clean vehicle history report.
