G-Power Overwhelming: 830hp Hurricane RRS
What do you get when you slap twin-superchargers onto a V10 M5? Well, without a tune, you’ll probably end up with blown motor and rolling chassis. However, when you get the guys at G-Power to do it… You get something like the Hurricane RRS.

G-Power isn’t exactly an underground tuner for BMWs. This machine is probably the fastest M5 there is in terms of top speed. In 2010, it managed to hit a dizzying 231 mph.

Under the hood are two belt driven, ASA T1-316 superchargers that feed boost too each bank of cylinders through intercoolers. Of course, boost without balance is the fastest way to blown engine. To avoid that, G-Power dropped in MAHLE forged pistons with a lower compression ratio, along with custom connecting rods and pins. The original ECU was also scrapped in favor of an ALPHA-N system. In concert, these parts work together to deliver 830hp between 7,500  and 8,000 rpm. Peak torque is 575lb-ft at 6,500 rpm.

Besides the dazzling blue paint, there isn’t much in the way of exterior mods. There are some G-Power decals and other minutiae, but it’s not like the car was designed by Mansory. Thank god. Still, coil-overs and wheels give the car a nice stance. After all, looking good while going fast is half the fun.
