Dinan Twin Turbo E32 V12 BMW 750IL

E32 750iL is one of only 12 ever to get the Dinan twin-turbo treatment. Act fast, and it could be yours! It’s on Craigslist in NorCal.

At the time of its release, the E32 7-Series BMW was a groundbreaking vehicle for the iconic luxury brand. It brought back a V8 powerplant for the first time since the 1960s. Furthermore, it was the first BMW production car to be offered with a V12 engine. However, it wasn’t just the then-ground-shaking 295 horsepower M70 V12 under the hood that made the E32 stand out. Both V8 and V12 models were available with insane amenities like a wine cooler, a telephone, and even the ultimate in technology; a fax machine! What they never left the BMW factory with, though, is any sort of forced induction. However, thanks to the loveably insane folks at Dinan, a very select number of people got to own these bonkers twin-turbocharged V12 E32s. Now you have a chance to own one, too.

Currently listed on Craigslist in Vallejo, California, just north of San Fransisco, is this 1991 BMW 750iL with the Dinan Twin-Turbo package. If this is something you’re interested in owning, you’d better jump on this now. Unfortunately, only 12 were ever built, so your chances of finding another one are virtually nonexistent.

Old School Tech Making New School Power

Don’t let its thirty-year-old technology fool you. This 750iL will catch you sleeping. With its intercooled twin-turbocharged Dinan setup, it makes an astonishing 510 wheel horsepower. To put that in perspective, let’s assume a modest 15% drivetrain loss. That would put us at 586 horsepower at the flywheel, which is over 60 more horsepower than a 2021 BMW 750Li. This thing is no joke.

It’s been meticulously maintained, too. According to the craigslist listing, it’s had a handful of work done inside and out.

Dinan History Kept Clean

The hood, driver fender, and both driver side doors were recently repainted, and the whole paint job underwent a three-stage polish. Furthermore, it has a brand new center grille and tinted side blinkers. It has new roundels and door handle gaskets. Finally, the unique Dinan wheels have been polished.

Inside it underwent a meticulous seat-out shampoo and vacuum. It now sports a pair of E34 M5 seats with all the original electronics transplanted, so they still maintain all power and heating functionality.

It also has a new ignition timing box, new ignition wires, caps and rotors, and even a full top-end engine refresh. Additionally, it has new pads, rotors, suspension components, and rear trailing arm linkages. Finally, it has a new set of engine mounts to top it all off.

Needless to say, this is a rare beast. The fact that it has been lovingly maintained and/or restored makes it even sweeter. This may be the only chance any of us will have in this lifetime to own one of these amazing cars. It certainly comes with a price, though. Currently, the seller is asking a cool $32,000, Which, in our minds, doesn’t really seem too bad for what you’re getting.
