Dinan Tuned E60 M5 Is a “Stroke” of Genius
When I was looking for a new car, one used BMW kept creeping its way back into the pile of maybes, no matter how much unsolicited advice I got telling me I’d be an idiot to buy one. No matter how many forums I perused, they all said the same thing, it just kept coming back around. The car in question was the BMW E60 M5.
The E60 M5 has a naturally aspirated V10 motor that revved to insanity and when new, produced over 500 horsepower, and spouted a sound that was inspired by the gods. However, in my quest for a new ride, I finally decided it would be a terrible idea, and bought a Golf R instead.
Recently, I had a conversation with one of the lead engineers at Dinan, who almost slapped me for not getting one. In his opinion, the E60 M5 was one of the best cars BMW has ever produced, and besides making sure the car had a full oil service history, the cars are almost bullet proof. With that in mind, I started looking again, which has led me to the video below of a Dinan tuned M5.
The E60 M5 here has Dinan’s stroker kit, and now makes over 600 horsepower. It sounds amazing and now I definitely want one.
