BMW is stepping up once again to the art plate and partnering up with Art Basel in Miami Beach to display past “Art Cars” to help engage with local and emerging artists. As of December 3rd, BMW will begin a new art initiative to help those newer artists and collaborate with them on design projects. In addition to advancing art projects for the future, BMW will display one of Roy Lichtenstein’s Art Cars as well as one of Michael Jagamara Nelson’s cars within the walls of the Miami Botanical Gardens, and in the Miami Convention Center. 07-bmw-art-car-1989-m3-group-a-nelson-01_1280x960 The cars themselves are absolutely gorgeous. My personal favorite though is Lichtenstein’s because of the flares and giant 80s DTM wing. Nelson’s is much more understated, but still looks awesome, especially the center-lug wheels. BMW states that it wants to further its cultural commitment that it has enjoyed over the past 40 years. Moreover, showcasing these two cars is definitely a great way of doing that.
