BMW M4 GTS Unveiled at Pebble Beach
Though some buzz at Pebble Beach has been linked to the CSL 3.0 homage, bigger news comes in the form of the BMW M4 GTS. Presented in Frozen Dark Grey paint, this color is one of many stunning visual cues. Accented with a splash of color is the Acid Orange painted mesh style wheels and front apron. The coolest of cool touches comes in the flavor of exposed carbon fiber, which can be found on the front splitter, rear diffuser, and the manually adjustable rear wing.
But there’s more than meets the eye at work here. Under the hood, water injection is now used in the engine. Essentially, injectors spray water right into the intake manifold where the action of vaporizing causes a cooling effect. This allows for lower intake temperatures, higher resistance to knock, and the ability to add more beloved boost.
Not much has been said about any suspension or transmission changes, but with all the talk of being a race car for the road, you can be sure that suspension components will be changed to make the GTS more focused than the equipment you get on the M4. More details are being rolled out, so stay tuned for more updates as they come in.
