Restomodded E9 Is Absolutely Glorious
When you think about restomods, you invariably think of some old-school muscle car with a swapped-out, new-age LS crate motor and some upgraded suspension and brakes. Or in short, every single Chevelle and Camaro on the planet that was built from 1965-1973.
What you don’t see restomodded all that often are European cars. And you definitely don’t see many classic BMWs going under the knife. More often than not, these cars are tucked away in someone’s garage, well-hidden for when the day comes to finally sell it and make a profit.
Not a bad plan, but what if you wanted that classic car style, but with all the modern enhancements we’ve come to appreciate? Well, you take a ’70s BMW E9 and transplant the beating heart out of everyone’s favorite M5: the E39.
The car you see here has been thoroughly gone through. All the electronics, all the hardware, the entire chassis mind have all been carefully placed under that absolutely stunning E9 exterior. The interior is just as well-appointed, with a mash-up of both the old and the new.
In short, I desperately want one immediately, now who has one on Craigslist?
