2013 BMW M6 Ripples the Tarmac at Laguna Seca
It may have the most powerful engine ever used in an M car, but is the BMW M6 a good driver’s car? That’s what Motor Trend’s Best Driver’s Car competition is designed to find out. This is the first time a BMW with an M badge uses carbon-ceramic brakes, but how do they manage the M6’s 4,210 pounds around Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca’s 11 turns?
Racing driver Randy Pobst loved the force-fed V8 engine’s power, and adored the seven-speed transmission’s fast shifting, but lamented how laborious it was to get the M6 around the track. Could the M6 be at least a top-three finisher among all 12 contenders?
