Default First Timer W/ tough Intro

Never owned a BMW before and thought I would try one out. Picked one up at the Salvage auction with minimal damage but running into some issues. Hopefully I can sort them out because I'm really looking forward to driving the car and 07 550i. Really wanted a 535 but hey how can you go wrong with a V8 right? It'll probably all work out as long as I can stay away from the dealer. My initial experience there was less than ideal. Well not entirely true. The parts guy was great. The service guy not so much.

Welcome to the forum, but wish you had found us sooner. We could have advised you what to look out for. The 550s are a bit more problematic and expensive to run than some of the other models, but you'll find some good advice here.

My first word of advice: find yourself a good independent BMW mechanic who comes highly recommended by others. He'll serve you best in the short run.

I never keep cars all that long but wanted to stick my toe in the BMW water. I don't think it's too serious though. Something to do with the BST or lack thereof. Thanks for the tips though. I'd really like to get a 335 coupe. Similar year. This one came up and too good a price to pass up...I think
