so my 2004 530i with 114k miles recently gave me the Service Engine Soon light. I had a friend/mechanic run the error code and it was i believe 1747 or something. He told me that it had to do with something within the EVAP system. He told me its most likely a bad gas cap, so he reset and turned off the service engine soon light. Drove for about 5 days before it came back on.
Do you guys think it's really a bad gas cap or what else can it be that would cause it to throw a code for EVAP? Thanks in advance.
