Bringing it back for an update....... how has the dip held up to normal wear and tear? Do you have any pictures of the final aluminum color?

Some pics are requested. These pictures show 3 months or wear. The steering wheel, dash, and console trim is holding up very well; unless you unnecessarily aggressive when using the iDrive or steering wheel controls I don't think many people will have any durability issues if the Dip was applied properly.
For the pillars and lower door sills, it would be best not to dip these. I am 6'8" and have my seat way back so my car experiences abnormal wear in that area. If you feel your hip contact the pillar when entering and exiting the car, don't dip it, if not you may be ok. As you can see on the passenger side pillar it is holding up fine since there is less traffic but also the occupant is normally my girl friend and she falls into the "normal" category for a human.
I will try to source some black interior pieces from a salvage car to replace the pillars and sills. The trim surrounding the base of the seat is doing fine as well.
The door handle wore down, A: because this is a high traffic area with twisting/pulling friction and B: Plasti Dip is stronger and more durable with more coats. Since I dipped the handle piece while it was on the door it was almost impossible to get direct application to the inner edge of the handle where your fingers usually grab so improper application had a large part in the lack of durability, although even with adequate coverage the lifespan of the dip in that location is finite.
Hope these pics help.

I never really had intention to wrap the interior or trim on my E61. After doing it on my E39 (it was actually a fabric, not vinyl) I found the ease of application Pasti Dip offers a huge benefit. The only thing that could sway me back to vinyl is the new "brushed aluminum" finish some companies offer.
