The Turner Motor Sport race team was at my local BMW dealer and they were doing raffles. I ended up winning a "friends & family " pricing certificate for any Escort windshield mount radar detector. Anyone know what these are worth? It doesn't say, it just says call to order.

Anyway, which "windshield mount" Escort brand detector does everyone go with?

Thanks

I think their "top of the line" is the 9500xi or something similar.

Yeah, I was looking at that one or the Solo S3 cordless one.

Anyone have any experience with either the Solo S3 or 9500ix?

I had the original solo and have 2 Solo S2's and they are great. I originally got the Solo when I had my SL500 and found it to be easer to put away w/ no cords when parking with my top down. Now I just have it hardwired without using batteries. It is also nice when I travel to throw it in my bag and not have to worry about cords.

I've been happy with my Passport 9500ix. The false alert learning / filtering is a nice option to have.

+1. Have had my 9500ix for about 3 months and all the false alarms are gone from my typical routes. Price is $499 but I've seen it advertised at $450. Hardwire kit is definately worth it. Clean install without wires stretched across the windhield or dash.

Plenty of how to posts and it takes 20 min.

A good write up I've seen on it.

Have the 8500 x50 and works great. Saved my butt several times.

9500xi. The newest tech, the highest price. Better sensitivity than cordless.

I've had S3's in both cars, and they work well! I've made my way through the product lineup over the course of many years, and they just keep getting better!

Another vote for 9500xi. It works great!
