I dont have BT as a factory option, I was wondering what installs had been carried out by Forum members as alternatives to BMW's integrated system.

Looks like most car kit fitters are taking me down the Parrot 3100 route, it works great with any BT phone, mine being a SPV-C500. The big unknow is mute, (the engineer is confident that he can recreate automatically the same function as me pressing the mute button on the wheel) and wether he can tap into the car speakers. The latter is in my veiw probably 90% against (logic 7) might be able to do something with the AUX In (would mean manual intervention and a Y splitter) or its gonna be an additional phone only speaker under the dash.

Anyhoo its happening Monday will let you know.....any feedback on this from you guys is very welcome

i'm thinking of going for the parrot ck3100 too as it is compatible with most phones and its firmware can be upgraded to fix bugs....

I looked at the parrot and found the BLNC to be a better unit, in both looks and functions. the unit runs and when i get a call it mutes the radio and states "call from Home" or so forth all voice, it runs thru the car speakers and i had them install two seperate speakers under each dash so that if i do not want the radio muted it runs thru those speakers as well. the Voice is clear and the sound is really loud if need be. It also tells you if you have texts messages or Voicemails all verbally. This unit currently is paired to my Razor v3, and my Nokia 8800. My wife also has ber blackberry and her Motorola 330 as well.. You can pair up to 5 phones. Great unit, I would go qwith this over the Parrot. the Parrot is cheaper, but the BLNC is worth the price difference.

Did a BMW dealer install it or did you use an outside shop?
