Weights:
The Sportline CS.16 CSL style wheel are made using a rotary forging process. Making these wheels stronger and lighter then any other CSL Style wheel on the market. The Sportline CS.16 CSL style wheel on average weigh 21.6 lbs, where as a gravity cast CSL wheel can weigh 24-26 lbs. Saving 3-5 lbs per wheel is a huge weight saving when it come to unsprung weight (weight that is not supported by the car's suspension such as the: wheels, tires, brake rotors, and brake calipers). Reducing unsprung weight on your BMW is one of the easiest ways to improve your car's handling, braking, and acceleration. As a general estimate 1 pound of unsprung weight is equal to 10 pounds of static weight (weight that is supported by the vehicle's suspension). And with every 10 lbs lost from a car equals another 1 HP, reducing your unsprung weight can have a profound effect on performance!

Looks pretty good .. would love to silver see on an E60. Can you tell me the difference between forged and rotary forged? These wheels seem pretty lightweight. Any idea how the hold up?

Rotary Forged Flow Forming:
This is a production procedure that turns the wheel (or rim section) over a special mandrel and three hydraulic rollers using tremendous pressure. The pressure and turning then force the rim area to form against the mandrel, creating the shape and width of the rim. During Flow Forming, the rim actually "flows" down to create the full rim width. During Flow Forming, pressure applied to the cast rim actually changes its mechanical properties, so its strength and impact values become similar to those of a forged rim. That translates to up to 15% less weight when compared to a standard cast wheel. This allow manufactures to increase dent resistance without having to make the wheel heavier.
Forged:
Forging is the process of forcing a solid billet of aluminum between the forging dies under an extreme amount of pressure. This creates a finished product that is very dense, very strong and therefore can be very light. The costs of tooling, development, equipment, etc., make this type of wheel very exclusive and usually demand a high price in the aftermarket.
