I was told by someone that this material expands and contracts according to temperature. It needs professional installation and requires a lot of work fir good fitment. Not a DIY for sure.

Is ABS plastic that expensive that aftermarket bumpers cannot be made of? Is paint going stick to this bumper or will it peel or crack after a couple of years?

If this bumper is made of tried and true material, I would give it a shot. But somebody has to prove it to me.
Just like many many materials aside from Flexiplex, they do expand and contract. The question is how much? With flexiplex, it only expands and contracts to a certain point. The reinforced plastic then kicks in as a buffer. As for not a DIY, I agree. It is always suggested to have a professional to install any body panels on your vehicle.

As for your ABS plastic concerns, it is actually more expensive to do projects like polypropelyne molding. ABS plastic will soon be an outdated form of production. Many OEM manufacturers have been taking route with polypropelyne. So what does this got to do with your concern? Well one of Flexiplex's compunds is polypropelyne =).

As for proof, I'll let nerwyll take over in that department when he shows us before and after shots of his bumper a few months from now =)...

Isn't NeRwEEzy's car the same color as the one that was posted already? I am looking forward to some hi-rez images but I wish somebody installed it on a white car...that would look great!

my e60 is actually a silver gray. the bumper was first test-fitted on Joe's e60, which has a full carbon fiber front
