Hey guys,
So this morning I was driving to work and noticed a strong burning oil smell coming from my vents, so at lunch I took it to the dealer to figure out what was wrong. popped the hood and oil everywhere , turns out condensation in the oil froze up the oil seperator and over pressured the engine and oil was coming out the oil cap and valve gasket. Apparently this is a known issue for m54 engines and there is a service bulletin out for it, so just a heads up to anyone who might live where its cold and has this happen to them. So long story short new valve cover gasket, oil cap, dip stick tube, oil seperator kit for cold weather, and insulated hoses.
