Vacuum Pump leaking oil. How common?

i noticed mine is leaking also. 550i
i was wondering though if my pump was actually bad, or is there just a build up of oil mist in the pump? does the pump use the the cranckcase fumes?

there doesnt seem much to the pump.

add me to the list. just took mine in yest after seeing oilf for a week or two...and voila its the vacuum pump...only 60,000 miles on my car
