2005 530i engine stutters only at 4k RPMs

I am baffled at what I am feeling during accelerations where the RPMs pass through 4000. The engine loses power and the car bucks as I accelerate exactly when it hits 4000 rpm and goes away as the engine gets to 5000 rpm and beyond. Car runs completely normal unless its in the low 4000 rpm range?
Has anyone experienced anything like this?

My only guess would be the fuel pump, injecters, throttle body? Not sure about the fuel pump since it's normal after 5000 rpm....how many miles on the car?

Possibly a DISA valve since you have s specific deadband in your RPMs. Diamond posted a thread about failed DISA valves a while back. He must have taken it with him...I couldn't find it.
