Please follow this thread for headlight removal: https://5series.net/forums/index.php?showto...mp;gopid=969316
Removing headlight can allow you to mount the ballast beneath the headlight for a cleaner look. If you pop open member JRFinest's hood, you won't see any ballasts anywhere.
Headlight removed
Stock H7 Bulb Removed. The Retaining clip MUST be reused!
The retaining clip unclips from the plug.
Cut a slit in the retaining clip so the new H7 HID bulb with wires can have access in there
Drill a hole big enough in the headlight cover for the plugs to go through. A One Inch hole is enough or just take a chisel and a hammer and make a hole
Put the HID bulb in the retaining clip
Different view of the bulb and also a picture of Alihan!
Twist the HID bulb into the socket using the retaining clip to hold it just like stock. Connect the wires to the correct positive and negative. Feed the wires through the cover
HIDs ON!
Just LED Angel Eyes for halogen headlamps
Feel free to post any questions.
I know you guys have been waiting!!!

I think your car could use a detail, yes. And. Wasn't there a Rieger kit for sale in the classifieds somewhat recently?

Yeah, John, I'm saying you're so old - sometimes I wonder how you find the time to do all the lighting installs between brake-checking lawless future law students and getting smoothies thrown at your Ford Contour. Just don't take a swing at me for this - I'd hate to have to assault a senior citizen bwahahaha

My car needs MORE than a detail. Clay bar, then dawn soap, 2 coats rejex, and clean the interior and free up the trunk. This will be done after I get my headlights straightened out. there was but i think the seller sold the entire car instead.

Thanks for the post! Can you please show some pics of where to mount the ballast? also how do you secure the ballast to the body of the car? Thanks!
U can use the supplied screws and/or zip ties. Just use your imagination and mount it anywhere u like. I'll take some more pix next time I install since it's a customer's car and not my car.

Great DIY.
On a side note: Judging from the pics, that car has NJ plate, the HID with halogen housing won't pass the state inspection. They will fail you and ask you to remove it.
