Found some time finally to take some pics of the M5 brakes kit and Supersprint exhaust (vid) which I installed end of July.
I found a full set at fabdirect in the UK and had them shipped to the Netherlands, generally everything was OK except the front discs, which were shot and had to replace them with new ones. Found a pair of OEM M5 front pads on ebay for cheap and used my rear Redstuff pads from the 545i on the M5 rear brakes which share the same part no. The whole process set me back about 2000 euros - a new set costs 4250, so pretty happy.
Front is PnP but rear needs certain modifications, these are explained well by member nicke60gre in his M5 BBK thread. After explaining this process to my dealer, they were happy to go ahead and perform the mod.
Performance is needless to say, awesome. Combined with my braided brake lines, the feel is smooth, progressive and with a short travel on the pedal - the stopping power is confident and endless. With absolute lack of fading from very high speeds (>270km/h), the limiting factor now are the tires gotta make sure there's enough tread otherwise ABS kicks in easily. The 545i brakes are not bad at all but since I removed the DME speed limiter on my car, needed something stronger.
The Supersprint muffler was exactly what I was looking for with regards to sound and looks with 80mm tips - just love it. I noticed slight loss of torque under 2000rpm but better pulling power after 4000rpm, which combined with chiptuning and air filter will see you close to 360hp on the 545i. It sounds great
- no renosance complaints either.
