Rear Camber Adjustment points
#1
So we're on our 2nd E60, and rear camber is just too excessive on our car. I've done my own alignments for years (SCCA, SCCA Pro victories running them), but I'm not overly familier with the E60 adjustment points.
Quickly crawling under the car, it looks like the only rear adjustment is a single concentric on the lower-rearward control arm mount. This would adjust camber with little effect on toe, as it is pretty much in a straight line with the center of the wheel.
Is there another adjustment for toe, independent of the above mentioned, that I've missed. I plan on dialing the -2.2deg down to around -1.0, as I'm tired of having the inside edge of tires chord when the rest of the tire looks brand new.
Thanks!

Not sure if anyone has actually done this...did you try running a search using the upper right bar? GL David...hope you get things resolved....
second e60, new or used? How many miles on the suspension. A rear camber is normal in the rear with a sport package. Perhaps the car just needs a suspension tune-up? Again..GL...

28000miles, with -2.5 degrees of camber in the rear. This is more than I ran in my World Challenge Pro race cars. We had a new E60 in 04, but just picked up this 05 pre-owned.
I just dialed it down to around -1.1 degrees....tires should wear much better.
For the record, there is a second adjustment for toe correction, but using the primary concentric adjuster (on the lower control arm), the toe moved only about 1/64th of an inch.
So now, I have -1.1 degrees camber, and 1/16" toe IN in the rear (.2deg more or less)
I owned, raced, worked on a LOT of cars over the years, and I realize German cars often come with a lot of rear camber. It is very common in BMW's and Porsches, and I assume they do it to prevent oversteer (understeer is much safer). However, every BMW I've owned wears the inside edge of the rear tires....due to excessive negative camber. It's my wife's car, and she won't be pushing the handling limits EVER in this car.
