I recently finish installing the exhaust system shown below in pictures. I have commented the pictures with "how to do it" information. I have to credit anthony517 with the initial concept, I used a somewhat different approach and components. The components are: muffler Magnaflow 11385, resonators Vibrant VIB1790, Tips Vibrant VB1335, insulation Reflect A Shield 101420, front muffler hangar BMW 18207510997, rear muffler hangar BMW 18307525615, longer bracket bolt BMW 33176756510, U bends 2.25. Total costs for parts $415.00. I took me 5 hours to fabricate the piping and install the mufflers. If a muffler shop would charge $75.00 per hour the install cost would be $375.00, for a total cost of $790.00. I wound up with a true dual exhaust system, which doesn't hang down, and has a very European sport sedan sound. Anthony517 has posted clips of his mufffler, this sounds very simular, but I don't have any droning. There is a small resonance from 2300 rpm to 2700 rpm. At 65 mph in 6th gear I turn 1900 rpm the system is almost a quiet as stock at that point.

Yes, at my age I'm to old to crawl around under a car. I should have had one 10 years ago, best $3,500.00 I ever spent. I have a classic car, a Lotus, the BMW and a truck and I do all my own work.

Your setup looks awesome!

What kind of Magnaflow muffler did you use?
What kind of resonators did use?
How did you apply the heat shielding material and what is it?
Where did you get the work done?
How much did everything cost (including hanger modifications, labor, etc.)?

And the most important question, where are the sound clips?!

I didn't read your OP, I just looked at the pictures. It's hard to read the text in your pictures due to the pixelation and red text. But one of my questions remains valid...

Where are the sound clips?!

I did, it's still hard to make out some of the text due poor background placement. But it's all good. Bump for sound clips.
