LCI Retrofit Facelift Lights
#1
The LCI retrofit is a retrofit cable set for the facelift lights. This is the BMW OEM solution to get the facelift headlights and taillights working on pre-LCI cars. A new light module (LM) needs to be installed on cars before 09/06.
Part numbers:
E60: 61 12 0 432 110
E61: 61 12 0 432 397
The cable kit consists of many parts (adapters, sockets, etc.). A person would have to buy the facelift headlights, taillights and light module separately.
The TIS document states an approximately 5.5 hours. But I would think it is much longer for older cars or when troubleshooting arise. It sounds like a 2 days labor extensive dealer job! For the taillights, couple of the wires from the cables need to be routed all the way to the front of the car--connecting the pins directly to the dismantled plug on the LM. The headlights require bumper removal. The pre-LCI existing plugs (the 8-pin plug and 4-pin plug) have to be completely disassembled. A provided 12-pin socket will then be individually wired and this plugs into the facelift headlight. And finally the car is program/encoded.

The approx. price breakdown...
a. AHL-xenon headlights: 1,850
b. Taillights: 430
c. Light module: 350
d. Retrofit cable set: 50
e. "Labor": 1,000
Give or take, somewhere between $3.5k to $4k out the door.

I thought the light module is only for LCI front headlights right? LCI Rear only needs a retrofit cable isnt it.

4-5k for lights... I think we all would agree that you can do a lot more with 4-5k, than just lights. =)
Get some 20 inch rims! or.. bodykit, and rims and springs. heh.
So much. or just keep the car the same and get a motorcycle, Used of course. If you want speed that is.
If is cool that BMW offer's the retrofit cables and such, but its just so expensive.
