Thumbs down

I'm in UK now, installed the LSD yesterday in London, while I was on tour in the city (I already knew the city, but I had to waste time)
It's really fantastic!!
Today I started the car with the left wheels on the grass and the right ones on the road: it started very well, no DTC flashings!
On the rounds it is wonderful, you can continue to go round and the tires remain on the road (black lines I mean ) but no DTC flashings!
The same thing starting with the wheels completely turned from a secondary street .

In the normal driving is very nice too!

But the most astonishing thing is that the LSD by Quaife make the upshifts and downshifts faster!!! And it isn't an impression!
I think it is due to best oil and better part than the stock .

Here a pic of the stock piece of differential :

Here a video of the start from the grass (0-50 kmh) :

(change the extension from .doc to .mp4, not allowed to upload mp4 here)

Edit :
now on YT too :

How much ?

I was expecting about ?900 .. Instead my car needed a more expensive part by Quaife .. So ?1200 (1700 EUR) with a 20% discount, for the complete job .
For this forum's members there should be a 10% on the part ... So ?1000 for the part, I think .
A little expensive but very very nice, more useful than a new exhaust .

Oh man, that looks like so much fun. Do they have the Quaife available in the states for the E60?

Write to :
quaife@birdsauto.com
and imho he could ship you the part . Tell him you are a member of the E60 forum, so he should do the 10% discount as promised .

Thank you!

None : I still have my 2.93 final drive ratio, because I didn't fit a new differential but only opened the one I had as stock and added the LSD .
For the gearing I guess I will get a BMW gearset (ring+pinion), because Mr. Kevin of AutoBirds-UK told me BMW sell those parts!
I am thinking to something similar to 3.15 (-8%) or 3.08 (-5%, 540i final drive ratio) : not a big mod, but I still have to remake catalysts and headers and now it is already enough fast, for my taste .
