M3 e90 x Wes_R(70 pics)
Hey everybody,
Just trying to catch up on write ups that are way overdue.
This was the first Interlagos Blue M3 I got a chance to work on and the fact that it was an e90 made it that much more interesting. The car was dropped off and left with me for a few days since the owner was heading out of town.
As usual the first walk around shots

I rinsed off the rims and then applied p21s wheel cleaner

While the wheel cleaner was working I moved on to the engine and exhaust
no during shots just befores and afters

The exhaust was not to bad so just a microfibre mitt was needed

after

I turned on the car to let the engine run for a bit and blow out a little water in the exhaust. Man that Encore Titanium exhaust is LOUD
Finally got back to the wheels and started on the inner barrel with my Ez Brush

All foamed up

Did the face and behind the spokes with my microfibre mitt

And a wet after shot

Started rinsing down the car and noticed right away no wax was on the car which for me was a good thing for polishing but a bad thing for the car until it met me lol

No water beading = no wax

Started washing the car using the 2 bucket method and a natural sea sponge

Then dried off with my waffle weave towel

Brought it in the garage and began to clay bar the paint

The dirt the clay was picking up

I think someone ended up off the track

After the claying I measured the paint to see the levels I was working with

No repaints and nothing ridiculously thin
The swirls were not to deep and the paint just needed a 1 stage polish to bring it back up to par
I used my Flex orbital, Lake Country orange pads, and Menzera Powerfinish
Here are the before and after shots

Here are the reflection I was getting right after the polishing

I forgot to take pics of me masking off the rubber trim but here is a pic of me unmasking the blue tape

And wiping off the residue left behind

Afterwards I gave the paint an ipa alcohol wipe down (ipa was cut 50/50 with water) to clean off the polishing oils so the wax could bond to the bare metal

wiping the paint down

Checked the paint with my 3M Sun Gun and things were looking lovely
No swirls

Check out the flake

Waxed the car. Wax was Swissvax Concorso

While the wax was curing I cleaned the windows with my Glass Master Pro(I lol everytime I say that name. I feel like a rapper from the 80s Blast Master Wes...echo echo echo echo) and dressed the tires

So finally after a hard days work here are the results
