Aream - i would highly doubt any RWC or inspection centers in australia would even BLINK at the idea of there being an issue with these tail lights - Once I stopped driving Japanese sports cars, the cops and inspection places barely give a second glance at Euro/Prestige cars, and all my cars are -very- modified. If it ever failed, just spend 15 min and swap to the stock lights before any RWC inspection.
