So some of you may have that annoying passenger seat mat/airbag error. A permanent solution would be to buy this emulator cut and splice/solder it to the connection and voila! The computer always thinks someone is in the seat, (if you choose to have that setting) or it can always be off (no one is in the seat).
I dont work for and have no relation to this site, but just showing where I purchased the emulator from.

http://www.greebid.com/wholesale/bmw...ries-1195.html

Theres even a pdf on that product site that shows how it works.

I got the idea from a post on bimmerpost
http://e60.5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=561602

It worked for my car

Also if you choose to leave the switch for the occupancy emulator on ,itll always think someone is seated which would ring the annoying buckle seat belt alarm, heres another work around ,if you cant code it off through ncsexpert

Nice find. When I had this issue and searched for this particular three wired one, the cheapest I found was $100 from Spain. This is a much better price, considering you're basically just buying a glorified resistor.

I have been plagued with this same issue. Going to the dealer tomorrow, they told me recall did not apply to my car - go figure, my M5 is 12/2005

They're made in Japan and are actually applicable to other vehicles as well. We've installed 4 of these in the past week. Of course we did the work but with a Liability Waiver signed. This emulator has two dip switches 1 and 2. For BMW 2008 and above 1 and 2 need to be ON. For all other BMW 1 is ON and 2 is OFF. Is this the SHIPPED price? I may be able to do better on price but need at least 15 buyers. Same product.

The passenger seat will always ring because the emulator makes it so that the computer thinks someone is sitting all the time. Some people just clip the passenger seat belt in. I didnt want to do that so I did what this guy did.

Now the passenger never has to clip in their seat belt (but I always make sure they do), because the seat belt thinks that the belt is always clipped in .

Man, you just don't read carefully do you.

Your install was correct, but the seat belt alert being there is normal, hence the other link above to show you how to disable the chime.
