Do it! Somebody did a hit and run on my car last year. When State Farm did the inspection, they put down the MTech rear bumper instead of standard. I was like

I guess it depends on the insurance company. The State Farm guy had his laptop out that automatically connected to a database for the parts along with part numbers compatible with my car along with cost of paint and install. He gave me a print-out quote for everything and cut me a check based on that. I already had an independent body shop that was recommended to me so I showed the quote and they went with it. I didn't bother with the dealer since the shop I got seemed really reputable (based on google, yelp, and other reviews I found).

I'll just wait for the report to be ready and then see what i got to do. if i got a check from the insurance company I will fix it in any good independent shop. I might save some money from what i get from the insurance

looks like you can just pop that dent out and realign the bumper, at no cost...if you want to pocket the insurance money instead.
