Well I found a super cheap 6 Disc changer on craiglist locally but Im not sure if it will work in the E60 or not. Its coming out of an older 5 series with OEM Part #82 11 1 469 404, does anybody know if this will work or has anybody installed it successfully? Been looking to upgrade and this would be perfect for the price if it works. Thanks - Josh

Maybe it was copied incorrectly. That said, it's somewhat unlikely a cd changer from an older 5 series will "fit" your e60. If you really want one I've seen them FS here from time to time.

Yes it will work. In fact if you can get your hands on the older CDC, some of them had MP3 capability as well. The E60 ones never had that.

Thanks for the confirmation bruce! Picking it up after work for $25!!! How could I tell if it is the "older CDC with MP3 capability"?...also if on my original sale sheet from the dealer mine says 6 disc changer capability (or something like that, its not in front of me right now) should this just be plug and play with no coding?

will still need coding. Also the CDC-prep in the E60 was in the front. This CDC wont fit in the front and is designed for the rear (Similar to the DVD changer).

So are you saying this one will technically work, but wont fit in the glovebox and connect as the actual part designed for the E60 would? If thats the case I may just pass, I just thought it would probly fit and function similar...

in which case, no it won't.
