Time for little modding, again.

So, I'm running OEM Style 135 wheels as my winter setup. The specs are 8x18 ET20, and that means the wheels sit pretty much inside the wheels arches. I've enhanced the situtation by using 5mm spacers in front and 12mm spacers in rear. It's much better, but it has still felt like a bit stucked in...

Therefore I ended up making a fast order, almost as an impulse buy, for a pair of 20mm spacers and longer bolts for rear axel. They are manufactured by a German FK Automotive and they appear to be high quality. I got a great deal as they were the last pair in a shop.

The idea is to move the 12mm spacers from rear to front, and put these 20mm spacers rear. I never thought I would use 20mm spacers ever, but I guess that day has become now. I've been thinking that a 20mm spacer is too much, but now when I'm handling the item, it doesn't look so fierce... if you get what I'm meaning. Anyone out there who DOESN'T recommend using this thick spacers? I've been 100% fine with the 5mm and 12mm ones.

Those do seem a little heavy. Although probably negligeable, those do had a couple of pounds of unsprung weight on each corner. You should have looked into lighter versions from other vendors. I think Michael at Acute Performance on the forum has got some really nice ones at a very fair price. Check them out.

There are plenty of people running 20mm and up. Brabus is on hi M5 in the front for sure. They're not really that heavy in real life. You should be fine.

I was thinking about the weight too, and realized that these new 20mm spacers are not very much heavier than the 12mm spacers that I'm already using --> I will probably not notice the difference behind the steering wheel.

realllllyyy like reallllllllllyyyy 1.5lbs difference and ppl go nuts "OMG THOSE THINGS ARE HEAVY YOU SHOULD HAVE LOOKED INTO LIGHTER BRANDS" lol there going to look pretty badass alot of my boys are running that high

 

I run 20mm all around, no problems whatsoever.

 

Ok, I installed the spacers yesterday .

Suits the car well I think.

Too bad my Focal Solid 1 subwoofer amplifier couldn't take the -30°C temperature at the Christmas Eve, when I was driving a 180km trip to my parents.
The amp doesn't power up anymore. Well, fortunately the thing is still under warranty . French electronics and Finnish winter doesn't seem to match that well haha!
