Please answer My questions. I am very interested.
1. So your saying that the AVR unit will not be able to run videos on the idrive screen using an iphone or any other source becuase our cars are not european?
2. I do have the factory 6cd changer in the glove box but my indash cd slot does not run MP3 cd's. So without bmw programming it it will still work but i'll just get track 1, track 2 and so on without the track names correct?
Let me know as im ready to start bidding. Thanks
Mike

Mike you brought up a point that I overlooked. I had a 2006 e60 that played mp3 CDs in the dash. The cd changer was always just CDs no mp3. I guess you need to be updated to be able to play mp3 CDs. The gw500 uses that capability to show all info on nav screen. You also need the full nav not just the smaller LCD window

Also yes avr unit will not pass video to your nav screen. That function was designed to take advantage of euro nav units that have a built in video card. No us units have this card. The avr will only be useful if you have other video screens to plug output into. If you buy some other rgbs converter for BMW then I guess you could take the video out of avr unit and connect to nav screen that way but you would be adding additional costs

Thanks for the info. but yes I do have the bigger idrive screen. And I don't really care if I don't get the track info and just get track1 and so on. And for that I have heard I will not need to programming. Do you think it can be that way? And also if we can't use the avr module I wouldn't want to buy it. Thanks.
