Hopefully this question has not been asked and answered a million times already. I'm in the process of getting my brakes done and would like your recommendations on what to choose in terms of good cross-drilled/slotted rotors and pads as a replacement for the OEM counterparts on my E60 now?
I've done a bit of research and R1 Concepts seems to have some good options. (Stoptech and Brembo are a bit outside my financial reach).
Member/Dealer recommendations are more than welcome and any pictures of your install and performance opinions would also be great. Getting a setup with good stopping-power and minimized brake dust whiles maintaining the cross-drilled slotted look, would be ideal.
Thanks!

Get the R1 Premiums, they are a good company with a great reputation. I've used them a few times and when my car is out of warranty for maint (06/11) I will be getting R1 immediately after. Their premium series rotors are really good

Thanks pjinca,
And for pads would you recommend Axxis/PBR Deluxe (Ceramic Formula)? I've read that they are less dusty, good grip through braking and not noisy.

Crap, I just realized that R1 Concepts does not ship direct to Canada. I wonder if any of the supporting Dealers in this forum carry these brands and can beat these prices? Or whether or not they provide comparable product?

I would recommend the Hawk HPS pads I got from Acuteperformance (Michael) - he also carries R1 rotors , I don't know if he ships to Canada - you'd have to PM him for that info.

+1 on the R1 Concepts and Hawk HPS. Just installed these on a friends car a few weeks ago. And like pjinca, as soon as I'm out of my maintenance period I'm going with this setup too.

Hi,
Yes I do ship to Canada that's not a problem. Here is the price break down:
Hawk HPS Pads (Inc Sensors)
Front - $100
Rear - $75
R1Concept Rotors ELine OE Quality(XDrilled/Slotted)
Front - $175
Rear - $160
R1Concept Rotors Premium (XDrilled/Slotted)
Front - $250
Rear - $195
The premium rotors are stronger but the elines will work just fine. I'd get premiums if you were going to track or do crazy braking.
Please PM me your postal code so I can give you a shipping quote.
