Default Why Are These Tires So Bumpy?

I bought a set of Kumho*Ecsta ASX tires today and noticed that I can feel every little bump in the road.

Prior to that I had BFGoodrich*g-Force Super Sport A/S (W-Speed Rated) tires.

I never felt as much bumps with BF Goodrich though.

So what's the reason the Kumho's are so much bumpier? I'm seriously thinking about returning them.

Have you triple checked that the tire installation shop hasn't over-inflated your tires? While I'm not familiar with Kumhos riding characteristics and their sidewalls may be stiffer than the BFG's you replaced I have a feeling that tire inflation may be at the heart of this problem. BTW, what size are you running?

Tire inflation was the first thing I suspected as most shops tend to use generic inflation values. So I immediately checked inflation and miraculously they used the correct values. I am running 245/40/18.

Many new tires are "covered" by a brief (>30 days or so) warranty ... and reputable retailers will help offset or even reimburse labor to remove and replace the problem tires. Maybe a call to the tire company's customer service number is in order!

I just bought them yesterday and so they should allow me to exchange them. I guess like you said maybe the Kumho's have stiffer side walls. I was just trying to save a few bucks.

They're going to allow me to exchange the tires. Their name rhymes with Friscount Mire. Haha.
