Default Valve caps

Don't buy cheap as chips fancy Chinese tyre valve caps without putting some sort of grease on them before fitting them as I did. They were on for 8 months and wouldn't unscrew, they stuck fast, tried with mole grips etc, valves snapped off, two went, dohhhhhhhhhh

Not a problem if one checks tire pressure at least once a month!.

Because it has the flat tyre monitor, they rarely need checking.

It's a good practice to do so however, to prolong the life of your tires and improve gas mileage.

Maybe its because you don't check the tyre pressure often enough and they end up low, with the attendant premature wear. The harder you are on the tyres (very sporting driving etc.) the more the tyres will lose pressure, therefore the more you need to monitor them physically yourself. The flat tyre monitor will not tell you if all the tyres are low pressure, only if one tyre is much lower than the others.
