I own many BMW's and have different type rims. The one question I'm looking to see if anyone could help with.

I have BMW style 172 rim all same size not staggered and looking to use on my 2008 X5 bmw - What size tires can I use for this rim for the X5?

Which offset do you have, 18 or 32?

The back of the rim has 18 x 81/2 JJ

The OEM offset for a 2008 X5 is ET 48. If the 18 stamped on the rim is the offset, that's not gonna work.
