REAR Tires Rubbing on Struts,

09 535ix, I've been hearing some rubbing on the rear tires, always thought it was just rubbing on the outside fender. Well last night one blew out on me, come to find out it was rubbing on the struts, and it ate away on the tire.
Has anyone ever dealt with this before, or know how to fix it.
I'm running a staggered set.
235.35.19 fronts
275.30.19 rears.
stock suspension.

Were they rims installed with spacers. If so are you sure they were thick enough

No spacers installed, wasn't to sure if there a good idea or not. I will go pick some up and see if that fixes the problem.

I'm curious what wheels you are using with what width and offset.
If you have 10" wheels in the back with anything higher than a 42ish ET it is going to be close.
Needless to say you definitely need spacers in the rear. A 5mm spacer should do it.

I put on 5mm spacers, it's not rubbing as bad, but still rubbing a little. Went down to a performance autobahn, they suggest I put a 20mm spacer in the rear, just not sure if I should because the tire and wheel will be sticking out kind of far. Any suggestions.

Where did you get those wheels? What are they, width and offset wise.
Did you buy them off craigslist, get them from a friend or new from a store? They don"t look right my friend.
You can't just slap a wheel on because the bolt pattern fits.

Stick your hand in there and see how close the tire is to the strut. If your hand doesn't fit, crawl under the car.
20mm spacers instead of 10mm, what the hell. At least with 5 you are getting somewhere.

There not just any rim that will fit. They came off my M5, there m5 wheels. My M5 was hit and totaled so I pulled them off of it and put them on this 535.

I got it fixed, Autobahn put new struts, a 10mm spacer along with new camber arms. Rides smoother than ever with better handling and no rubbing now.
