Help with offset and TSW Rims
Hi Guys,
I have an offset question I need some help with. Currently have 2005 530i with the stock style 138 rims, offset of et 20, Square set up. 225 50 17 tires. I found a guy selling rims with new tires for less than buying a set of new of tires for my car. The specs for the rims are TSW Tanaka matte black Front 18x8.5 Rear 18x9.5 Offset ET 15 I did the will it fit check and it told me this: Front Wheels Original New Diameter 656.8mm 637.2mm Circumference 2063.4mm 2001.8mm Poke 75.3mm 93mm Inset 115.3mm 123mm Speedo error 0% 3.08% Reading 30mph 30.92mph Reading 60mph 61.85mph Ride height gain0mm -9.8mm Arch gap loss 0mm -9.8mm Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 7.7mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 17.7mm more than before. Rear Wheels Orignal New Diameter 656.8mm 628.7mm Circumference 2063.4mm 1975.1mm Poke 75.3mm 105.7mm Inset 115.3mm 135.7mm Speedo error 0% 4.47% Reading 30mph 31.34mph Reading 60mph 62.68mph Ride height gain0mm -14.05mm Arch gap loss 0mm -14.05mm Compared to your existing wheel, this new wheel will have an inner rim which is 20.4mm closer to the suspension strut. The outer rim will poke out 30.4mm more than before. Is how much it is closer to the strut and how much it pokes out seem normal for aftermarket rims? I know the e60 rims has kind of an odd offset and can't use a lot of the 3 Series and new 5 Series rims. Will these work? http://www.tsw.com/img/alloy-wheels-...ck-std-700.jpg |

Yes I understand that and I appreciate you replying.
These are used so I was trying to see if they were compatible and would not cause any immediate issue. If I bought rims new I would go for the best match available. If I put these on as is, would they be to close to the strut? They are wider than the stock set up. If spacers were required, would that push it out so far it would be problematic? |
my friend said he didn't like how much these tires were stretch and advised me to pass on them.
